New Chapter Reflection
Today is a special day for me, at 10:50am I received a call from Kettering College to inform me that they want to interview me. I have applied for the Physician Assistant program and have been working hard these four years to really be the best candidate I can be. As I am getting ready to finish up my last semester at Washington Adventist University I can’t help but reflect on my entire journey. The journey has not been easy especially when I think about the many late nights and early mornings. I am finally seeing a glimpse of the rewards of my hard work. In all honesty I can say that God is control of my life and that he is going to open the doors and close doors to guide me where I need to be.
As I specifically reflect on this histology course I am sure I will be thankful for taking this course once I start PA school. A background knowledge is going to equip me for the much harder classes that are ahead of me. When we study the different diseases I will be able to think back to the content of this class and understand the normal functions tissues. This will help me understand how the disease disrupts the body and normal functions. Histology has exposed me to images of live tissues versus only book illustrations. This exposure will allow me to understand more efficiently in clinical setting.
I am especially thankful for the study habits I have gained over the years. I am hoping that the transition from undergrad to graduate school will be smooth and I will be able to hit the ground running. I trust that if God has brought me this far, He will continue to guide me as I step into my purpose. At the end of the day, for me it’s not about the title, it’s not about how much money I will be making but about helping a world that needs healing. I hope that one day I will be able to impact others with a healing hand and share Jesus’s love through healthcare.
